A classically trained dancer nearly her whole life, Tami joined the West Coast Swing community over 8 years ago. Excited about a new dancing opportunity, she dove right into competing and placed top 10 with her 1st routine at the US Open 1999 and Grand Nationals 2000. She continued to travel from event to event around the country and eventually began to be asked to teach at local events and venues, even being invited to dance in the prestigious Champions of Champions division at the Greater Phoenix July 4th Weekend. As a Hustle professional, she has worked for Disco America in New Jersey, San Francisco Hustle Championships and the International Hustle and Salsa Dance Championships in Miami, FL. Her routines have been well received with former partners Joe Kerner, Erik Novoa and Steve Neeren. Teaching had become such a pleasure that she decided to join up with a couple of studios, Dance Manhattan and then Paul Pellicoro's DanceSport. The process of seeing a new person grow from beginner to an accomplished social or competitive dancer never ceases to amaze. While working for the NYC dance studios, Tami picked up teaching skills for other popular Social American Ballroom dances that she used to help couples get ready for their Wedding Dances. This only added to the joy of teaching! Her background in ballet, modern and jazz has only been an asset to helping others become better partner dancers, her enthusiasm for dance is contagious and her classroom is always an adventure at any level.
